Sheriff: Columbia teen was driver of car with 800 fake Percocet pills made of fentanyl
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The sheriff of a Mid-Missouri county said over the weekend that the driver of a car carrying more than 800 fake Percocet pills made from fentanyl was a runaway teenager from Columbia.
The 17-year-old was driving a car that was pulled over in Sedalia on Friday night, Pettis County Sheriff Brad Anders said in a Facebook post. A search turned up 803 counterfeit Percocet pills that tested positive for fentanyl, Anders said.
Two passengers, Ross Kellerman, 23, of Independence and Danielle K. Norman, 25, of Marshall, were arrested. Anders said they tried to give fake names but were foiled by a mobile fingerprint scanner.
More pills were found on Norman at the jail, Anders said.
Kellerman was charged with drug trafficking and possession and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. Norman was charged with drug trafficking and having drugs in jail.
Kellerman also had an arrest warrant out of Henry County for failure to appear for drug possession.
Anders said investigators determined the 17-year-old driver had been on the run from Columbia for two months. She was taken to the sheriff's office and released to her mother, he said.
