A Boonville man was arrested Tuesday following a chase with deputies, according to a Wednesday social media post by the Cooper Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy saw Christopher Stallings, 33, driving a vehicle and knew he had a warrant for his arrest, according to the post. The deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop but Stallings allegedly kept driving at high speeds, eventually going back to his residence. Stallings was eventually arrested after deputies set up a perimeter around the house.

Stalling is charged with felony resisting arrest and is being held in the Cooper County Jail on a $100,000 bond. A hearing was held Tuesday and Stallings pleaded not guilty. A counsel status hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6.

He was also charged with animal neglect in February and the venue was moved to Pettis County. In another case moved to Pettis County, he is charged with animal neglect and three counts of fourth-degree assault. A jury trial for both cases is scheduled for 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3.

Stallings also has a first-degree harassment charge from February. He was also charged last week with felony failure to appear.
