Two arrested after Jefferson City police chase
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Jefferson City police arrested a man and a woman after a chase Thursday afternoon that ended near Brazito.
An officer tried to pull over a vehicle at Highway 50/63 and Monroe Street, suspecting the driver had arrest warrants for assaulting a law enforcement officer and drug possession, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release.
JCPD said the driver, Dalton Fisher, 26, led police on a chase down several city streets before leaving the city on Highway 54. The chase then went onto smaller roads and back onto Highway 54 before ending in the 5500 block of West Brazito Road, according to the release.
Cole County deputies used spike strips in three separate spots but Fisher continued to drive with three flat tires, police said. Fisher and his passenger, Kyra Hankey, 26, were then arrested without incident on their outstanding warrants, police say. No one was hurt and no property was damaged.
Harkey was jailed on a no-bond warrant for drug distribution. Both were being held at the Cole County Jail on Friday morning without bond and new charges related to the chase were expected, according to the release.
