Two Columbia men accused of robbing home

CENTRALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two Columbia men were charged Thursday in relation after allegedly breaking into a man’s residence, assaulting him and stealing money and other items on May 7.

Nicholas Burr Hunt, 35, is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, armed-criminal action and unlawful gun possession. He is not listed on the Boone County Jail inmate roster. A warrant was ordered and no bond is set.

Curtis Lamar Russell, 43, is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and armed-criminal action. He is not listed on the Boone County Jail inmate roster. A warrant was ordered and a $75,000 bond is set.

The alleged victim told Centralia police that he was at his residence with a friend with the door locked and that the door was forced open by Hunt and Russell. Hunt then allegedly hit him in the face and had visible injuries, according to the probable cause statement. Hunt and Russell then allegedly stole a wallet and $600.

Another victim was allegedly also hit in the face by Hunt, the statement says. Hunt and Russell then allegedly took a television and a power tool set.

The first victim allegedly told police that Hunt had a knife and threatened to cut his throat.

GPS monitoring and surveillance video allegedly shows Hunt and Russell at a nearby convenient store before the robbery, according to the probable cause statement.
