Two arrested, charged after Saturday chases
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Two people were arrested from a pair of chases on Saturday in Columbia, according to a pair of probable cause statements.
In one chase, Rashard Lee Bigham, was charged with resisting arrest by fleeing and driving while revoked. He is being held at the Boone County Jail on a $20,000 bond. A court date has not been set.
Bigham was also charged with driving while revoked in another case and has a court appearance set for 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 15, at the Boone County Courthouse.
A Columbia police officer tried to initiate a traffic stop after 10 p.m. Saturday for a Nissan Altima. The probable cause statement claims the officer knew Bigham had a suspended license.
A chase ensued from Range Line Street, around northern and central Columbia and the officer stopped the chase at Williams Street near Paris Road due to speeds allegedly exceeding 80 mph in residential neighborhoods. Bigham was eventually arrested in the parking lot of Plush Lounge after 11 p.m., according to the probable cause statement.
After another chase on Saturday afternoon, Devin Jackson, 31, was charged with unlawful possession of a gun and resisting arrest be fleeing. He is being held at the Boone County Jail on a $100,000 bond. An initial court appearance was held Monday.
In another case, Jackson is charged with hindering the prosecution of a felony.
On Saturday, a Columbia police officer tried to initiate a traffic stop after seeing Jackson, who had a warrant for the hindering charge, according to the probable cause statement.
A chase began on Blue Ridge Road and Jackson’s vehicle crashed on Creasy Springs Road. Jackson got out of the vehicle and ran. He was eventually caught while allegedly trying to hide a gun.
