COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police have arrested a man in connection with an October shooting at a busy roundabout but did not provide any details about the arrest.

Officers arrested Semaj R. Clark, 22, of Columbia after he was charged with assault, armed criminal action, reckless driving and driving without a license last month.

Clark was wanted in an Oct. 14 shooting at Nifong Bouelvard and Sinclair Road.

The probable cause statement says a police officer was sitting in the Mill Creek Elementary School parking lot on Oct. 14 when he heard four gunshots.

Police found Clark with a gunshot wound to his back, and four shell casings nearby. Police also found a silver BMW and black Ford Fusion with damage, indicating the cars had been involved in a crash, according to the statement.

Clark allegedly told police he was driving when he saw the Ford swerving, causing him to speed up and discover what was happening. He then said he heard gunshots and collided with the vehicle. Shortly after, he recalls climbing out of the passenger side of the BMW after being shot and saw a person running away.

A witness claims to have seen the BMW purposely drive over the median and crash into a black car.

Another suspect, Derrick Blackmon, was arrested in February.

Clark was scheduled for an initial court appearance Friday afternoon. He was in the Boone County Jail on Friday on $100,000 bond.
