Dixon man charged after allegedly shooting at tow-truck driver

DIXON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Dixon man has been charged and arrested after he allegedly shot at a tow-truck driver trying to repossess a vehicle on Saturday, according to the Maries County Sheriff’s Office.

Ronnie Lawson, 40, is charged with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a gun and possession of a controlled substance.

A detention hearing was held Tuesday at the Maries County Courthouse and a $50,000 bond was set. He is being held at the Maries County Jail, according the the sheriff's office. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 16.

On Saturday, after deputies learned after the alleged shooting, Lawson left the area and was dropped off at a business. He was taken into custody shortly after, according to the post by the sheriff’s office.

Deputies also found a shotgun and suspected methamphetamine. Lawson was convicted of a felony in 2014 and is not legally allowed to own a gun.
