Man accused of making terrorist threats arrested, has court appearance

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man accused of making terroristic threats against multiple entities and people is now in the Boone County Jail.

Clinton Lauby, 36, was arrested Thursday. Details of his arrest were not available Friday afternoon. He is charged with five counts of first-degree making a terroristic threat.

Lauby is being held in the Boone County Jail without bond. An arraignment was held Friday afternoon at the Boone County Courthouse.

Lauby allegedly made threats online to the Columbia Police Department, a couple of area businesses and a celebrity on April 1 and April 3, according to the probable cause statement.

Police say in one Facebook post, Lauby said he received a gun. In other posts, he threatened to kill police officers and others from area businesses, such as EquipmentShare and Influence and Co., according to the probable cause statement. He also allegedly made a threat about Neil deGrasse Tyson.
