Man charged with making terroristic threats

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man has been charged with five counts of first-degree making a terroristic threat after allegedly making threats on Facebook to the Columbia Police Department, a couple of area businesses and a celebrity.

Clinton Lauby – whose address is listed as Columbia on Casenet, but is originally from Connecticut and has Connecticut license plates, according to the probable cause statement – allegedly made the statements on Saturday and Monday.

Police say in one post, Lauby said he received a gun. In other posts, he threatened to kill police officers and others from area businesses, such as EquipmentShare and Influence and Co., according to the probable cause statement. He also allegedly made a threat about Neil deGrasse Tyson.

He was not listed in Boone County Jail online records.

A warrant was ordered and no bond was set.
