COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A second person shot last month in a camper in Camden County has died, the sheriff's office said Thursday.

Tammy Larrabee, 54, died Friday at University Hospital in Columbia, where she'd been since the Feb. 21 shooting, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Another person shot that night, Eric L. Cantrell, 56, died at the shooting scene near Route FF and Pine Cove Road in Edwards.

Alexander Cantrell-King, 19, was initially charged with first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and first-degree assault. He remains in the Camden County Jail.

The sheriff's office says investigators are working with the county prosecutor on new charges.

Cantrell-King has a bond hearing scheduled for March 20.

Emergency dispatchers received a call on the night of the shooting in which they could hear the caller telling someone named Alex to put down a gun, the Camden County Sheriff's Office said in a release. Sounds of fighting could be heard before the call dropped.

Cantrell-King, 20, who is a family member of both victims, told investigators that he heard a gunshot go off inside the camper, according to the sheriff's office. He allegedly told investigators that he went into the camper after hearing the shot and found the woman holding a rifle and Eric Cantrell lying on the floor.

Cantrell-King allegedly said he wrestled the rifle away from the woman later identified as Larrabee and it accidentally went off, shooting her. Larrabee identified Cantrell-King as the shooter on the way to the hospital, according to the release. Evidence supports her claim, investigators said.
