Deputies investigating after shooting in Hartsburg left one man hurt

HARTSBURG, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating after a shooting early Saturday morning left one man hurt.

At 2:30 a.m. deputies responded to the 16000 block of South James Sapp Road in Hartsburg.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found one man with a gunshot wound and believe he was shot at a nearby house.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries and is currently in stable condition.

The Boone County Sheriff does not believe this was a random assault and there is no threat to the public.

Deputies say this is an ongoing investigation and more information may be released at a later time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Boone County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
