Cooper County sex offender indicted for child pornography charges
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Prairie Home man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on multiple charges related to producing child pornography.
Bradley Knecht, 28, was charged Tuesday with sexual exploitation of children and activities constituting/containing child pornography in Jefferson City.
Knecht, who was arrested Wednesday, has a prior Arkansas conviction for possessing or viewing child pornography.
The indictment alleges Knecht used a victim to produce child pornography from Feb. 1-Oct. 20, 2022. Knecht is also charged with one count of advertising child pornography, one count of distributing child pornography, and one count of possessing child pornography.
This case was investigated by the Boone County Cyber Crimes Task Force and the FBI.
A hearing has not been scheduled.
Knecht was charged with failure to register as a sex offender in 2019 and was sentenced to supervised probation in 2020. On Oct. 26, a probation violation was filed, according to Casenet.
He was charged in Cooper County with failure to register as a sex offender again in September. He was also charged with first-degree promoting child pornography in another case.
Cooper County Jail records said Wednesday that he was being held without bond.
