COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police arrested an elderly northwest Columbia man Wednesday on suspicion of having child pornography.

Police searched the home of Ivan Metzger, 76, in the 1800 block of Parklawn Drive with detectives from the Boone County Cyber Crimes Unit, the Columbia Police Department said on social media.

The search came after a witness told police that he saw pictures of boys ages 8 to 12 posing nude in suggestive ways on Metzger's computer, according to a probable cause statement. Investigators found child pornography on the computer, including some of boys engaging in sex acts, the statement says.

Police also found a photo album with child pornography, the statement says.

Prosecutors charged Metzger with a single count of possessing multiple images of child pornography.

Metzger was in the Boone County Jail on Thursday without bond. An initial court hearing was set for Thursday afternoon.
