Boone County Sheriff’s Office investigates homicide south of Ashland

ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 10:25 p.m.: The Boone County Sheriff's Office confirms it is investigating a homicide. One person is in custody, according to Capt. Brian Leer.

ORIGINAL: Several law enforcement agencies had blocked off a large area along a road south of Ashland on Friday night.

Boone County sheriff's deputies, Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers and Ashland police were at the scene in the 18000 block of Old Route A off Highway 63. Officers only said that an investigation was ongoing, releasing no other information to an ABC 17 News reporter at the scene.

Authorities had a large residential area blocked off.
