Three charged with attempted robbery outside Columbia supermarket
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Three men have been charged with attempted robbery in an incident last week outside a Columbia store.
Police arrested Damarkus Cain, 21, of Columbia earlier this week on charges of attempted robbery and accessory to armed criminal action after a man reported that three other men -- one armed with a gun -- tried to rob him in the parking lot of Moser's on Keene Street.
Officers arrested Courtney Brown, 20, of Columbia, and Tyjuan Robinson, 22, of Columbia on Thursday.
The victim told investigators that Brown tried to rob him of a bag containing money and a handgun inside his vehicle in the store parking lot, according to a probable cause statement. Robinson and Cain were with Brown, according to the statement.
Both Brown and Robinson are charged with attempted robbery and armed criminal action.
The victim identified Brown and Robinson and a detective was able to identify Cain and surveillance cameras recorded the incident, the statement says. Police found the vehicle used in the robbery attempt and found two backpacks with two pistols -- one stolen -- in some trees nearby, according to the statement.
Cain was released Tuesday on a $20,000 bond. Robinson and Brown remained in the Boone County Jail on Friday without bond.
Brown was also charged with drug distribution and unlawful use of a weapon after police said they found him with cocaine and a gun during his arrest Thursday.
