Two men are facing a criminal charge after allegedly stealing over $70,000 worth of tools and other items from the Rocheport Bridge construction site on June 1.

A Cooper County prosecutor has charged Joshua Coates and Ryan Dickinson with stealing - motor vehicle/watercraft/aircraft.

Investigators spoke with the construction company on site and learned that tools, trail camera, bore welder, plasma cutter, welding helmet and other things were stolen by the suspects after cutting a lock off of a storage container.

On June 17, investigators spoke with Ryan Dickinson at the Howard County Jail in Fayette where Dickinson admitted to stealing the items with Joshua Coates, according to the probable cause statement.

Dickinson told investigators that the items were stoled at a location on the 900 block of Kemper Drive in Cooper County and Coates's residence in Howard County, according to the court documents.

Law enforcement reportedly found $22,500 worth of stolen items at the Kemper location and $40,000 worth of stolen goods at the location in Howard County.

Both men do not have a defense attorney listed according to online court records.

A court hearing has not been scheduled at this time.
