Army staff sergeant accused of child sex crimes

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A federal grand jury indicted a U.S. Army staff sergeant based at Fort Leonard Wood for sexual exploitation of children and receiving child pornography.

Robert C. Walkup, 38, of St. Robert, is charged two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of receiving child pornography, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Missouri. Walkup is accused of using two girls to make child pornography in May and December 2020.

No hearings have been set in his case and no lawyer for Walkup was listed in federal online court records.
