COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police arrested a man after a chase ended Friday afternoon in west Columbia.

Police were seen putting the man who had left a red truck at the end of a chase into a squad car. The chase ended near the on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 70 from Stadium Boulevard. Multiple Columbia Police Department cruisers and Missouri State Highway Patrol vehicles were at the scene.

CPD Lt. Clint Sinclair said at the scene that Columbia police were helping the patrol look for a person involved in a patrol investigation. CPD officers found him on Clark Lane in east Columbia and started to pursue him, but called off the chase at some point, the officer said. Troopers then found the vehicle, a red Mazda pickup, near I-70, he said.

The incident ended with a foot chase, Sinclair said.

The man was wanted on warrants but will also likely face new charges related to the chase, Sinclair said. Details on the man's identity and why the patrol wanted him were not immediately available.
