Two teens arrested after Cole County car theft

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Deputies arrested a 17-year-old from Jefferson City and a 16-year-old from Kansas City in connection with a stolen car found Wednesday just west of Jefferson City.

Deputies found the stolen Ford Fusion after being sent Wednesday morning to the 5500 block of Bradley Drive, according to a Cole County Sheriff's Office news release. They developed a description of the alleged thieves and found the suspects near the scene of the theft, the sheriff's office said.

The boys were arrested on suspicion of tampering with a vehicle, the sheriff's office said. They were sent to the Prenger Family Center instead of being booked into jail because of their age.
