Editorial Note: ABC 17 News has clarified the domestic dispute was between Trustee and Kitchen and deputies originally were called to a domestic disturbance.

The Randolph County Sheriff's Department says a man killed himself following a domestic dispute in Jacksonville early Saturday morning.

The sheriff's department received a domestic disturbance call around midnight and responded to South Pratte Street.

During the incident, Alicia Trustee left the home with her 8-year-old child. Alonso Kitchen followed them both and then shortly after, rammed his car with Trustee's head-on. Randolph County Sheriff's Department says Kitchen is also the father of the child.

Kitchen left the scene and then deputies arrived at the crash. He later returned while deputies were tending to Trustee and her child who both suffered moderate injuries in the crash. Randolph Co. Sheriff Aaron Wilson states the two are expected to be okay.

Kitchen was armed with a .22 long rifle and threatened to kill himself and deputies took a stand against Kitchen.

Kitchen then took off from the scene of the accident and deputies received a call from a woman along the 300 block of South Gate Street. who knew Kitchen. She said Kitchen had shown up at her house and she had gotten the long rifle away from him.

When deputies showed up to the residence along South Gate Street. and attempted to take Kitchen into custody, he reached into the back of his waistband, took out a .380 handgun and shot himself in the head.

Deputies and troopers on scene attempted to aid Kitchen but were unsuccessful due to the self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Sheriff Wilson says no officers were hurt during the incident and Kitchen left a suicide note. He said no criminal charges will be filed against Kitchen.

The Randolph County Sheriff's Department wrapped up the on-scene investigation around 6:30 a.m.
