Holliday man charged after allegedly attacking a man at a hotel

A Holliday man is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting another man at the Welcome Inn on Thursday night.

A Boone County prosecutor has charged Joshua Kandler with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, second-degree assault, tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution and first-degree property damage.

On Thursday at 11:15 p.m., Columbia police responded to the Welcome Inn at 1612 North Providence Road on a reported assault.

The victim told police that Kandler entered his room and hit the victim on the head with an empty glass liquor bottle. Kandler then allegedly hit the victim with a skateboard.

Kandler then allegedly smashed the victim's phone and threatened him to not call the cops.

The victim told police that Kandler then threatened him with more injuries if the victim didn't give him other items.

Kandler is being held at the Boone County jail without bond. According to online court records, Kandler does not have a deense attorney at this time.
