Meth seized after apartment searched in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was charged after a search warrant was issued for an apartment and Cole County Sheriff's deputies seized meth on Tuesday.

The Cole County prosecutor has charged Justin Gilbreth with resisting arrest and delivery of a controlled substance.

On Tuesday, Cole County Sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant at an apartment on the 5100 block of South Brooks Dr. Deputies reportedly found 18 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia at the residence according to court documents.

Deputies report that Gilbreth ran off when they tried to arrest him.

Deputies searching the residence also found over 54 grams of meth found in a children's toy in the garage.

Gilberth does not have a defense attorney listed according to online court documents.

Gilberth is in the Cole County Jail with a bond set at $50,000 cash or surety.

A bond review hearing is scheduled for Wednesday and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 7.
