Columbia man charged with multiple crimes after incident off Providence Wednesday
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man is facing multiple charges after an incident involving a knife on Wednesday off of Providence and Nebraska.
A Boone County prosecutor has charged D’Shawn McDonald with third-degree domestic assault, third-degree assault, three counts of armed criminal action, fourth-degree domestic assault, two counts of fourth-degree assault, second-degree property damage and unlawful use of a weapon.
According to court documents, McDonald went into a woman’s job off of East Business Loop and asked to borrow a pencil but when she couldn’t give him one he allegedly punched her in the right cheek and then McDonald let the business. McDonald then slashed the victim’s tires before walking off.
The victim then observed McDonald walking down Providence toward the Break Time convenience store where a person attempted to deny McDonald entry. The person reportedly eventually let McDonald in after McDonald threatened to stab the person, according to a probable cause statement.
Lt. Lance Bolinger with the Columbia Police Department said the fight was between two people who have an ongoing feud.
According to online court records, McDonald does not have a defense attorney listed.
McDonald is being held without bond at the Boone County Jail.
