Camden County Sheriff's Office

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A person could face charges after a traffic stop in Camden County led to the recovery of stolen items.

The traffic stop happened at 2 a.m. Friday on Osage Beach Parkway near the Hawk's Nest Lodge, according to the Camden County Sheriff's Office. A drug detection dog alerted deputies to possible drugs in the vehicle.

Deputies said their drug investigation took them to the motel where the driver of the vehicle was staying. Inside the motel room, deputies reportedly recovered suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a large number of stolen items.

Deputies told ABC 17 News on Friday the items were likely stolen from businesses in the Osage Beach area. The Osage Beach Police Department is working to return the items to their owners.

The sheriff's office didn't release the name of the person who was arrested but said prosecutors were likely to file charges Friday.
