AUDRAIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Shawnee Mission, Kansas man is being charged with several crimes in Audrain County after a vehicle chase on Sunday.

An Audrain County prosecutor has charged Kevin Molina-Sorria, 19, with resisting arrest, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, exceeding the posted speed limit by 26 mph, failure to stop at a stop sign and operating a vehicle without a driver's license.

Deputies said the chase started after a deputy tried to stop Molina for speeding near Farber.

The chase reportedly reached speeds of more than 100 mph. Molina-Sorria crashed the vehicle on Highway 54 near the Missouri Department of Corrections Women's Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies said Molina-Sorria and a passenger were taken into custody with the help of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Investigators later released the passenger.

No one was hurt during the chase.

The sheriff's office said Molina-Sorria was jailed on a $5,000 bond.

Molina-Sorria does not have a defense attorney listed according to online court records. He will have his initial court appearance on Tuesday.
