Charges filed in shooting at east Columbia apartments

EDITOR'S NOTE: Some details related to the shooting have been corrected.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Prosecutors have charged a 20-year-old man with two felonies after a weekend shooting that left one person injured at an east Columbia apartment complex.

TC Lee Littrice, of Columbia, was charged Thursday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. He was in the Boone County Jail on Friday without bond.

Littrice is accused of shooting another man during a marijuana deal. According to a probable cause statement, Littrice was driving a white sedan when someone shot another man through the car's front seat in the parking lot at Woodlake Apartments. The alleged victim told police he got out of the car and shot back after he was hit, according to the statement.

A witness allegedly told police they heard multiple shots and saw a white car speeding away.

The shooting victim gave detectives a cellphone number that belonged to Littrice, police say. They stopped his vehicle Wednesday at Stephens Lake Park and found a bullet hole in his white Nissan Altima, police say.

An arraignment is set for 1 p.m. Friday at the Boone County Courthouse. No lawyer was listed for Littrice in online court records.

Littrice is on parole for drug distribution.

The victim's condition was unknown Friday morning.
