Two charged after allegedly trying to steal from Miller County barn

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Miller County prosecutor has charged two men after deputies say they tried to steal from a barn in Iberia.

The victim reportedly confronted the two suspects Saturday.

Deputies say both tried to leave the area, Carl Howser walked away but deputies found and arrested him.

Timmy Whittle drove away and hit the owner's car while leaving.

Deputies arrested Whittle the next day after residents spotted him near the St. Anthony area.

Both men are charged with burglary and stealing.

Whittle is also charged with property damage and resisting arrest.

Whittle is being held on a $50,000 bond. Howser is being held on a $25,000 bond. Both men are being held at the Miller County Adult Detention Center.

Whittle has a case review scheduled for next Monday. Howser has a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 11.

Colleen McMahon is listed as Whittle's attorney in online court records. No attorney was listed for Howser in online court records.
