Police investigate scene along Defoe Drive

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department responded to a scene on Defoe Drive just after 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

On scene, ABC 17 News Crews saw multiple police cars with their lights off surrounding the 300 block of Defoe Drive.

Police were unable to speak with crews on scene, however, they could be seen searching the area with flashlights.

ABC 17 News has reached out to police for additional information regarding the scene and have not yet heard back.

    At 4:07 am Dispatcher: “Boone County …Shots fired, …Defoe Drive…”

    4:08 am, Dispatcher: “Units responding to Defoe, information: complainant found someone going through his vehicle in front of his house, when confronted, the suspect shot a single round at the complainant. Suspect left southbound on Defoe in a Ford Escape (the same model, sentient, SUV that decided all by itself to run over all those people in Wisconsin – I know this because I watch CNN and MSNBC).”

    Question to self: Is the stuff in my car worth getting shot over?
