MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mexico Public Safety Department is investigating after a bullet hole was found in a church near Boulevard Street and Quantico Road on Sunday evening.

Officers responded to the church around 6 p.m. and found a bullet had been shot through a church's siding. The only church at that intersection is Mexico Church of God Holiness. The church is across the street from Mexico Middle School.

Officials say someone fired the bullet from a neighboring house sometime overnight.
