Columbia man charged after allegedly firing gun in Walmart

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Prosecutors charged a man Tuesday after he allegedly fired a gun inside a Columbia Walmart.

Daniel Arnold, 25, of Columbia, accidentally fired the weapon in the store's bathroom in the 3000 block of West Broadway, according to police. The shot damaged the tile floor but no one was hurt, according to a probable cause statement.

Police found the weapon, a long-barreled .410-caliber pistol, in the bathroom. A witness told police Arnold fired the gun accidentally.

Police say no one was injured due to the shooting.

Arnold is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm because he is a felon and is being held without bond at the Boone County Jail.

Arnold was scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
