Columbia man surrenders after SWAT is called to domestic disturbance early Tuesday morning

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

A Columbia man surrendered to police early Tuesday morning after SWAT responded to a domestic disturbance.

Columbia police responded to a domestic assault at a residence in the 10 block of Bright Star Dr. at 12:20 a.m.

The victim told police that Drake Adam Stockton-Kenney, 29, of Columbia, allegedly assaulted her and held her against her will.

Officers determined that Stockton-Kenney was inside the residence but after attempting to contact him, SWAT was called in.

A crisis negotiations team negotiator was reportedly able to get Stockton-Kenney to surrender without incident.

Columbia police arrested Stockton-Kenney for kidnapping, first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, resisting arrest and unlawful use of a weapon. According to online court records, Stockton-Kenney has not been charged yet.

The investigation is ongoing.
