COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was sentenced to 16 years in prison Tuesday on four felonies including child molestation and child endangerment.

Cale Kliethermes pleaded guilty in April to first-degree child molestation, two counts of attempted child endangerment and one count of sexual misconduct involving a child under 15. Prosecutors dismissed another attempted child endangerment count as part of the plea deal.

Judge Brouck Jacobs sentenced Kliethermes to 12 years on the molestation count and four years on each of the other counts. One of those counts will be served consecutively to the 12-year sentence, said assistant Boone County prosecutor Justin Owens.

Kliethermes, the owner of Kliethermes Homes and Remodeling, was charged in 2019. Police conducted an interview with two victims who said Kliethermes sexually touched them as early as 2012, when they were children, according to the probable cause statement filed in his case.
