Sedalia Police arrest two suspects in connection with shooting

SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Sedalia police arrested two teenagers in connection with a shooting at a park on Memorial Day.

Officers responded to Vermont Park for a shots fired call Monday at 7:48 p.m. Police believe this happened because of an ongoing issue between two groups of people.

Authorities said the suspects left the scene but officers later arrested Jayden Lawson Cheese, 17, and Jordy Salazar, 19, for unlawful use of a weapon.

No one was injured and police are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Detective Davis Mittelhauser at (660) 827-7823, ext. 1244.

The Pettis County Sheriff's Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol helped with the investigation.
