JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City police arrested two women after a chase and crash Monday night.

Officers arrested the driver, Tiffany Lasley, on suspicion of drug possession and distribution and resisting arrest after the chase that started in the 3800 block of West Truman Boulevard, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release.

Police say Lasley was driving an unlicensed vehicle that made an illegal lane change to get on Highway 50 westbound after the officer tried to stop her. The chase on Highway 50 continued for about seven miles before the officer called it off, according to the news release. The officer later found the vehicle after it apparently crashed into a road sign and trash can at Highway 50 and Shady Acres Road, JCPD said.

Officers also arrested a passenger in Lasley's vehicle on suspicion of drug possession. Police did not name her but said she was on pretrial release on multiple charges.
