Columbia police officers arrested a Jefferson City woman suspected of an early morning arson on Claudell Lane.

Alruekia R. Brown-Wells, 30, was booked into the Boone County Jail on suspicion of multiple charges on Monday.

A Columbia Police Department news release said officers responded to the Columbia Square Apartments in the 1000 block of Claudell Lane in connection to a disturbance around 3:20 a.m.

Brown-Wells is suspected of setting a fire to the outside of the residence, police said in the release. Officers said she was located at the scene and then taken to the jail.

The Columbia Fire Department responded to the scene and put out the fire. The police department said no one was hurt during the incident.

Boone County Jail records say Brown-Wells is suspected of first-degree arson, endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree assault.

As of Monday, Brown-Wells was being held in the jail without bond.
