Man arrested in Sedalia on suspicion of kidnapping

SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Sedalia Police Department said John Hodges is in custody pending multiple charges after police responded to a call that a woman was being held against her will.

Police were originally called to the 1000 block of South Osage Ave. shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers made contact with Hodges at the door, before police said he ran from the officers.

Officers had to use a taser in order to arrest Hodges.

Hodges had multiple previous warrants out for his arrest when police took him into custody. Those include a parole violation warrant from the state of Michigan, as well as charges in Pettis County for sodomy, second-degree domestic assault, and victim tampering.

Police say Hodges now faces additional possible charges of kidnapping, burglary, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and resisting arrest, among other crimes.
