Jefferson City police arrest chase suspect in Holts Summit

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City police officers arrested a chase suspect in Holts Summit on Thursday.

A release from the police department said the suspect, Germaine Morehouse, was arrested on suspicion of multiple felonies.

Police were called to the 2300 block of Southridge Drive for an assault involving a hammer around 10:11 a.m., the release said.

Morehouse left the scene in a stolen vehicle, police say. Officers spotted Morehouse near the intersection of Southridge and Southwest Boulevard.

Officers chased Morehouse onto Highway 54 East. The release said Morehouse drove over spike strips placed on the Missouri Boulevard ramp.

Morehouse continued driving across the Missouri River Bridge and stopped at the Route OO/AA exit. The release said Morehouse was arrested without any further incident.

Police said Morehouse was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, domestic assault, resisting arrest, as well as, other charges. He was taken to the Cole County Jail.
