Police investigate Break Time assault

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police say a thief hit a woman with his car as he fled a convenience store late Thursday.

Police were sent to Break Time, 2709 E. Broadway, at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday on an assault call, according to a Columbia Police Department news release. A woman at the store told officers that a man stole from the store.

The woman tried to keep the thief from driving out of the parking lot and he hit her with his car, police said. The man was driving a silver, four-door sedan, police say.

Police released no other details but said more information might be released later.
