COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man suspected of a Detroit murder was arrested in northwest Columbia Tuesday morning.

Allante Day, 29, was taken into custody at a residence in the 3500 block of Westwinds Drive around 10:40 a.m.

The Boone County Jail website said Day has out-of-state warrants from Wayne County, Michigan, for first-degree murder and a probation violation for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Jail records said Day was being held without bond as of Wednesday morning.

Columbia Police Department spokesman Jeff Pitts said officers and US Marshals worked together to arrest Day.

It wasn't immediately clear how Day was involved in the suspected murder.
