Sedalia shooting injures 18-year-old

SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Sedalia police say an 18-year-old was hurt in a shooting Saturday night.

Officers responded to the 2300 block of Lewis Circle just after 8:30 p.m. The police department said in a news release multiple gunshots were fired in the area.

Police found the 18-year-old with at least one gunshot wound -- crews took the person to the hospital.

Officers found multiple shell casings near the intersection of S. New York Avenue and E. 24th Street. The release said evidence at the scene suggested shots were exchanged between two vehicles.

Police said the shooting investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about it is asked to call the police department at 660-827-7823 ext. 1244.
