Police arrest Kansas City homicide suspect in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police officers arrested a man suspected of a Kansas City homicide in an east Columbia apartment building Thursday afternoon.

Columbia Police Department spokesman Jeff Pitts said officers served an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Terrance Jones at an apartment located in the 100 block of Albany Drive.

Donna Drake with the Kansas City Police Department said in an email Jones is suspected in the Sept. 2, 2016, killing of Brandon Johnson.

Pitts said the warrant was issued in Kansas City. Drake said Jackson County prosecutors had filed charges against Jones, however, the court documents were not immediately available.
