Columbia man charged after allegedly running over someone while looking for a dog

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police arrested a man after he allegedly ran over someone Monday night while looking for his dog.

According to court documents, Timothy Withers is accused of running over the victim Monday night in the area of 8th St and Wilkes Blvd.

Court documents state the victim knows Withers and Withers came up to the victim and began yelling at the victim about his missing dog.

The victim rode her bicycle away from Withers but Withers allegedly drove his car off the road and onto the grass and hit the victim, running over the bike and the victim.

Withers is charged with 1st-degree assault, armed criminal action and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner.

A court has denied Withers bond.
