MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mexico Public Safety Department is investigating after three vehicles were stolen overnight on Sunday.

The vehicles were taken from the 700 block of Quisenberry, the 900 block of Lakeview and the 1500 block of Ringo. At least two of the vehicles were unlocked with the keys inside at the time of the theft.

Officials say this is a similar incident to one the occurred during the overnight hours of November 9 and 10.

During that incident, officials say that four individuals came to Mexico in a white SUV, and found unlocked vehicles they could either take or take valuables from. The individuals stole three vehicles and apparently took them to the St. Louis area.

MPSD along with other area law enforcement agencies are attempted to identify the individuals, who seem to be part of a larger group doing the same thing in the St. Louis area.

Anyone with information about this or any other crime is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at (800) 392-TIPS or (800) 392-8477 or Mexico Public Safety at (573) 473-5800 or (573) 581-2100.
