Highway Patrol investigating officer-involved shooting at Lee’s Summit headquarters
LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. (KMIZ)
Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control is investigating an officer-involved shooting at Troop A's headquarters in Lee's Summit.
Troop A posted to Twitter that a suspect with a rifle got out of a car on the west side of the building.
The post said a trooper outside the headquarters gave commands to the suspect. Two troopers came out of the building to assist and shot the suspect.
Emergency crews transported the suspect to a local hospital. According to MSHP Troop A, no troopers were hurt.
Troopers said in a tweet the suspect was in stable condition and receiving treatment at an area hospital. The headquarters reopened at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Troop A also said on Twitter that the bomb squad with Lee's Summit Police Department cleared the suspect's vehicle.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control is investigating the shooting.
