HALLSVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

Hallsville police say a Columbia man was arrested after a Tuesday night chase ended in a crash just north of city limits.

Justin W. Stidham, 31, was arrested on suspicion of several felonies including resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.

Officers said suspicious activity was reported at a gas station on the north end of town around 8:50 p.m. A check of Stidham's license plate said the car had been reported stolen from Columbia, police said.

The police department said officers started chasing Stidham northbound on Highway 124 but he crashed into a ditch at the Schooler Road intersection.

Officers said meth was found inside the car after the crash.

According to online Boone County Jail records, Stidham also had an arrest warrant out of Callaway County. The records said he was being held on a $30,000 bond as of Wednesday.
