Colorado man charged with drug trafficking in Cooper County

COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A traffic stop on Interstate 70 leads to a drug seizure and two arrests in Cooper County on Sept. 27.

According to court records, David Kinney and another man were pulled over on Sept. 27 for driving erratically.

A Missouri State High Patrol trooper pulled over the vehicle and found out that Kinney was the passenger in the vehicle.

Kinney told the trooper that he had flown out from Georgia to Colorado and was driving back with the driver according to court documents.

The driver of the vehicle consented to a search of the vehicle. The trooper found a THC vape pen, 8.5-pounds of marijuana in vacuum-sealed bags, pills and other drug paraphernalia.

Kinney is charged with one count of delivery of a controlled substance and four counts of delivery of an imitation controlled substance.

Kinney has a $50,000 cash or surety bond set in Cooper County.
