Columbia woman assaulted at W. Worley home Wednesday afternoon

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police said in a Thursday release a woman was assaulted at her home in the 1500 block of W. Worley Street a day earlier.

Public information officers with the police department said the victim was sweeping her back porch Wednesday afternoon when an unknown male pushed her through the back door of her residence.

The victim told police she started to scream when the man punched her. The woman said she fell back, hit the floor and lost consciousness.

The release did not say how the man arrived at the residence. It included his direction of travel after the suspected assault is unknown.

Police said the assault is under investigation and that no one has been arrested.
