Sheriff’s dept.: Four arrested after stolen vehicles recovered in northern Boone County

Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested Justin Crites and charged him with resisting arrest, tampering with a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm and parole violation - burglary.

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested four people during a stolen vehicle investigation in northern Boone County Monday morning.

Officials say deputies responded to a "wanted vehicle" call at a residence near Hallsville.

Deputies found three reported stolen vehicles at the residence according to BCSD Sgt. Brian Leer.

A deputy on scene reported seeing Justin Crites run off into the woods behind the residence. Crites allegedly disregarded commands to stop running away.

On Tuesday, deputies reported seeing Crites return to residence and in possession of a firearm. Officials say deputies searched the residence and found Crites hiding in a closet. The firearm was located inside the residence.

Crites is charged with resisting arrest, tampering with a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm and parole violation - burglary.

Crites has a $50,000 cash only bond according to court documents.
