Man arrested on multiple charges after downtown Columbia incident Saturday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Police arrested Otis Campbell Jr. on multiple charges after an incident in downtown Columbia on Saturday night.

In a probable cause statement, Columbia police allege Campbell got into a car and demanded the driver to take him to his residence.

The driver and passenger told police that Campbell then got out of the vehicle and walked to the passenger side and pointed a gun at the passenger's head.

Columbia police then searched for Campbell in the area and found him. Police say Campbell then ran from officers. Police report Campbell had a handgun inside a backpack Campbell was carrying.

Campbell is charged with 2nd degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and resisting arrest.

Campbell does not have a bond set. According to Missouri Case Net, the "defendant is a danger to the victims and the community and is a flight risk."
