Columbia PD: Several men assault, rob man on Seventh St. after vehicle breaks down

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police continue to investigate an armed robbery of a 55-year-old man on the 700 block of Seventh St. at 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

Officials say when officers arrived they found the victim with several cuts to his head and face.

The victim told police he was driving his moped when it died near Rogers Street. The victim said that as he began walking home he was hit in the back of the head before being attacked by several men.

Police say the victim reported his wallet stolen. The victim also reported hearing a gunshot but he was not shot.

During the investigation, officers found a shell casing and blood in the area.

The suspects were last seen running on Seventh Street and heading eastbound on Rogers Street.

The investigation is ongoing.
